The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has libraries in its 49 regional campuses across Pakistan. The Central Library is the focal of these libraries.
The Central Library has state of the art systems and has over 137,000 books on a variety of subjects. The inherent objective of the Library is to support the academic activities by the AIOU faculty and students. The Library also serves as an information & knowledge resource that promotes library culture by extending the access to the faculty, students and knowledge seeking people from other academic institutions and the general public.
The Library has digitized the theses by AIOU students. The database is available in the Theses Section : AIOU Research Repository.
The Library provides attractive study and research environment. The facilities include over eighty internet-connected computers, numerous study carrels and a number of reading areas.
The Library OPAC is developed in KOHA.
The Central Library offers Electronic Document Delivery service. AIOU faculty, students and tutors may request photocopies of not more than 50 pages of a resource available in the Library. The Loeb Classical Library founded by James Loeb in 1911, has always been to make Greek and Latin literature accessible to the broadest range of readers. Entire Greek and Latin Classical heritage is represented here with up-to-date texts and accurate English translations. More than 520 volumes of Latin, Greek, and English texts are available in a modern and elegant interface, allowing readers to browse, search, bookmark, annotate, and share content with ease.
