Summary: In the more than 25 years that have passed since its first publication, the Dictionary of Agriculture has become a widely used reference work on an international scale. This fifth revised and extended edition is based on the proven material of the former editions. For the revision, the terms were first divided into different subjects; experts checked, updated and supplemented them in German and English. This basic material was then translated or adapted in Bonn, Brussels and Moscow for the French, Spanish, Italian and Russian languages. Italian, which was formerly contained in a supplementary volume, has now been integrated. An alphabetical index in six languages and an additional index of Latin names and terms in current use means that the dictionary can be used as a technical dictionary as well as a guide to terminology.
